Modelling and data
Simulation, data and AI
Computational modelling, statistics, machine learning and optimisation. (12 questions)
Can you help with CFD and FEA?
Yes. See CFD simulation and finite element analysis. Credible results need geometry, properties, boundary conditions and ideally validation data; we identify what is missing during scoping.
What is the difference between CFD and FEA?
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) predicts how fluids move and exchange heat, while finite element analysis (FEA) predicts how solids respond to loads and temperature. Problems that couple the two use multiphysics modelling. Our guide CFD or FEA: which simulation do you need? explains how to choose.
Do you offer digital twin and multiphysics modelling?
Yes, as research-level modelling support. Scope depends on the physics involved, the data available and how the model will be validated. See digital twin modelling and multiphysics modelling.
Can you analyse engineering datasets?
Yes. We provide statistical analysis, data science and time-series work on experimental, simulation and sensor data you are authorised to share. Please describe the data first rather than uploading confidential files through the public form.
Can you help with design of experiments and statistics for engineering studies?
Yes. We support experimental design, statistical analysis, response surface methodology and uncertainty analysis for engineering and applied-science studies. See design of experiments basics and engineering statistical analysis.
Do you support AI and machine learning research?
Yes. See AI & machine learning for engineering. We emphasise leakage-free validation, baseline comparison and honest reporting of limitations, and we advise when a simpler model is adequate.
Do you support predictive maintenance and sensor analytics?
Yes. We support condition-based and predictive maintenance analytics, sensor data analysis and anomaly detection, with attention to data quality and leakage-free validation. See predictive maintenance and the data it requires.
How do you ensure that a simulation is reliable?
Through verification, validation, sensitivity analysis and documentation of assumptions and limitations.
Can you validate a model without experimental data?
Not fully; we use benchmarks and literature data and flag the lower confidence.
Can you provide certified calculations?
No; certification needs licensed professionals or accredited bodies.
Will I receive the model files?
Deliverables are agreed at scoping and normally include inputs and scripts.
Can you use my software licence?
Often yes; otherwise we prepare inputs for you to run.
Manuscripts
Manuscripts and publication support
Writing, reviews, journal selection and responses to reviewers. (14 questions)
Can you help prepare original research manuscripts?
Yes, from your genuine data, methods and findings. We help structure, draft, edit and format. We do not create results, experiments, citations or author contributions. See original research manuscripts.
Can you support high-impact journal submissions?
We support journal strategy, scope matching, narrative, language, figures, statistical reporting review and submission readiness. See high-impact journal support. We cannot promise acceptance or any impact factor outcome.
Do you support systematic reviews and meta-analysis?
Yes, both the conduct of reviews (systematic literature reviews, engineering meta-analysis) and the writing of the manuscripts. A meta-analysis is only proposed when pooling is statistically and physically justified. See systematic reviews & meta-analysis.
What is the difference between a systematic review and a meta-analysis?
A systematic review is a method for finding, selecting and appraising studies with a documented search. A meta-analysis is a statistical technique that pools comparable quantitative results and may form part of a systematic review. See the full comparison.
What is bibliometric analysis and do you offer it?
Bibliometric analysis maps a research field from publication metadata, such as growth over time, leading venues, contributors and topic clusters. We offer it as a service and as support for writing bibliometric review articles. See bibliometric & scientometric analysis.
Can you guarantee publication?
No. Acceptance depends on editors and reviewers.
Can you write my paper for me?
We support authors who write and own their work; we do not ghost-write papers to be submitted as the sole work of someone who did not write them.
Can you choose a journal for me?
We can analyse fit using public information and advise, but the choice and the decision to submit are yours.
Do you submit manuscripts on my behalf?
No.
What is a submission readiness assessment?
It is a structured check of a manuscript against the target journal's scope and instructions, its structure, reporting and references, so that gaps can be fixed before submission. It improves preparation; it does not guarantee acceptance. See submission readiness assessment.
Can you help with responses to reviewers?
Yes.
Can you support revision and resubmission after peer review?
Yes. We help you read reviewer comments, plan responses, prepare a point-by-point response letter and check that revisions are consistent. Decisions about the research and the response remain with the authors. See reviewer response support.
What about generative AI tools?
Follow the target journal's policy. We do not use such tools to invent data or references, and all citations must be verified.
Who decides authorship on a paper we support?
Authorship decisions belong to the research team and its institutions and must follow journal policy. Support from ENGRexpert is typically acknowledged rather than counted as authorship unless the criteria are met and all parties agree.
Process
Scoping, timelines and costs
How an engagement starts, runs and is delivered. (15 questions)
How do I hire an engineering research consultant?
Describe your technical question, the data you have, the output you need and your timeline through the enquiry form. We reply with questions and, where appropriate, a proposed scope. An engagement begins only when a written scope is agreed. More detail is on the hiring page.
How do I outsource a simulation or data analysis project?
Send a short description of the problem, the available data or models, the required output and the deadline. After scoping, we agree how files are shared, what will be delivered (for example a report, scripts or model files) and the checkpoints at which you review progress. See simulation and statistical analysis.
How do I submit a project enquiry?
Use the enquiry form to describe your objectives, technical requirements, expected deliverables and timeline. We will review it and propose next steps.
What should I include in my enquiry?
Your research or engineering question, the type of project, what already exists (data, models, drafts), the output you need, the deadline and any constraints such as software, confidentiality or institutional rules. A short description is enough, and it is fine to say what you are unsure about.
What happens after I send an enquiry?
We read your message, ask clarifying questions where needed and respond with a view on feasibility and, where appropriate, a proposed scope. We do not make guarantees about response times. See how projects run.
How does an engagement start?
You describe the project through the contact page; we reply with questions and a proposed scope.
How are projects scoped and priced?
After your enquiry we assess requirements, identify what information is needed to confirm feasibility, then prepare a proposal and quotation reflecting complexity, deliverables and timeline. There is no one-sise price list because projects differ widely. See the project workflow.
How long does it take?
It depends on scope; estimates are provided after scoping.
How do you charge?
Pricing depends on scope and is agreed in writing; this site does not publish fixed prices.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Initial enquiries are welcome; any additional offers will be stated explicitly when made.
Can I change the scope?
Yes, by agreement.
What will I receive at the end of a project?
Deliverables are agreed at scoping and may include a technical report, analysis scripts, model files, figures with data, documentation of methods and assumptions, or a manuscript draft. Each deliverable states its assumptions and limitations.
What if I am not satisfied?
Raise concerns early; we will discuss adjustments within the agreed terms.
Can I request a specific expert for my project?
You can say what expertise you need. Staffing is discussed at scoping, and experts are matched to the technical question. This website does not publish expert profiles that cannot be verified.
Can you work in my time zone?
Services are delivered remotely, so time zones are manageable. Tell us your time zone and preferred meeting times; meetings are followed by a short written summary so that decisions are recorded.
Confidentiality and integrity
Confidentiality, data and integrity
How data is handled and the standards we apply. (9 questions)
How is confidential information handled?
Share the minimum needed and avoid sending sensitive data through the public enquiry form. Confidentiality terms can be agreed in writing before material is exchanged, and secure transfer arrangements are made per project. See the privacy policy.
Can we sign an NDA?
We can review a reasonable one.
How do I send files?
After scoping, we agree on a secure method; do not send sensitive data through the contact form.
How long do you keep my data?
Retention is set in the agreement and deletion or return is arranged at the end.
Where is the contact form data sent?
See the contact page: the form either posts to a configured endpoint or opens your email program, and never claims delivery that did not occur.
What about personal data?
Please do not send personal or patient data unless necessary and agreed.
Does ENGRexpert fabricate data, results or citations?
No. We do not fabricate, falsify or selectively misreport data, results, figures, citations or author contributions, and we may decline or stop work that would require it. See the research integrity principles and the Research Integrity Policy.
Do you refuse work?
Yes, if it conflicts with integrity principles, exceeds our competence or poses legal or safety concerns. We explain our reasons when we decline.
